Amazon Matias Quiet Pro Keyboard For Mac카테고리 없음 2020. 2. 20. 00:11
Coming from Cherry blues this is brilliant. Noticeably less noise and lighter key presses makes this keyboard a real joy to type on. I use it for programming and I am very happy. I personally never use the num pad having used laptop keyboards from a young age so I didn't see the need for the extra bulk that my wired Cherry Blue board has. The lack of clutter on my desk is lovely and the keyboard is so easily propped out of the way to make room on the desk now without the unsightly mess of cables everywhere, slowly driving you to madness. It looks suitably old school but not out of place on a modern desk setup and has a real classic/classy vibe about it. Remember the old keyboards back with the bondi blue iMacs?

The original iMac keyboard? It reminds me of that but without the wires and obviously more compact. You get two sets of ctrl, alt & command keys - one set on either side of the spacebar which has taken a little getting used to.

You just need to make that extra stretch to the arrow keys instead of pressing the ctrl key. Each key also has the various symbols that can be typed with modifier keys such as alt or ctrl. Very neat and saves you digging around for them when needed.
Although maybe you are like me and have memorised the ones that you need on a daily basis? The battery is otherworldly impressive, when Matias make the claim that this thing lasting for as long as it does, I don't doubt them. This was purchased last year and I still haven't needed to charge apart it apart from the initial one despite its everyday use. It has a very solid feel too being fairly weighty for a keyboard. You could travel with it for sure but it isn't going to slide around like a horrible flimsy keyboard. Initial re-pairing of the keyboard was troublesome with an Early 2011 Macbook Pro running OSX 10.9 where it struggled to reconnect at times but with the update to 10.10 it seems to be flawless.
I am not sure if this was a software issue or was it due to this being the first bluetooth keyboard I have owned. Maybe the procedure I was using to getting it to pair after every disconnect was incorrect? I'm going to blame the software and not the user;) The keyboard is now never turned off and the current steps I take to reconnect are as follow. Turning bluetooth on and press a few keys on the Matias which generally has it re-pairing in seconds. If I shutdown the Mac with bluetooth still turned on, it re-pairs at the login screen after a few key presses and works from there.
My only gripe? It's not backlit, but you can't have everything as I assume it would affect battery life which is killer. But I this is going to last me until I die. Or if bluetooth isn't a thing anymore? Free coaster from The Keyboard Company was nice too - It's pretty beefy and I'm still using it:). I've been using this keyboard for a few months now, and I'd like to share my thoughts.
When buying this keyboard, for 130£, and reading the comments, I was expecting a fantastic piece of hardware, but for the price I've paid, I'm not happy. The first item I've received showed some issues with the left CMD button (if I pressed too much it was exactly like not pressing it, therefore a simple 'CMD+S' resulted in the 's' char in the middle of my code), and I had to go to a post office, pay for a delivery back to the distributor, and wait three weeks or so for them to verify the issue and replace the keyboard with a new one (they confirmed the keyboard had a problem). The one they sent me back isn't affected by that problem, but I'm noticing issues with bluetooth connection (every now and then I have to repeat the pairing procedure, and sometimes it disconnects and reconnects on its own). I've previously used the Apple Bluetooth keyboard with no problems for months, and I'm still using the Apple bluetooth mouse, again with no problems. This keyboard is the only device I've experienced bluetooth problems with. Furthermore, the 'c' key is way more sensitive than other keys and if I'm not quick enough I end up with three 'c' instead of one: I partially solved this changing the char repeat speed on my Mac settings.

Overall I think that the price is not worth this product, despite the typing experience is pretty good. If I had to buy another one, I would probably for for a wired version to avoid at least the bluetooth pain. I bought this one to replace my Apple bluetooth keyboard, but a wired one would probably have been a safer and hassle-free option.

Cc EDIT I'm having now more an more issues, and typing became very painful (the keybord just disconnected even now, whilst I'm writing this review). It disconnects at least 10 times a day, and I think that 20% of the words I type needs to be rewritten because of double characters in them. I'm lowering the rating from 3 to 2 stars because for the price I would have expected something better. I'm thinking about sending it back and asking for a wired one.
